Barnsley Youth Choir is planning to return to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2018, but the choir needs your help to get there!
The choir first performed at the renowned arts festival in August 2016, winning rave reviews for its performances in the city’s legendary Greyfriars Kirk. Having cemented its position as one of the world’s leading choirs with gold medal winning performances at the 2017 European Choir Games, Barnsley Youth Choir is planning to take nearly 100 of its young members to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. However, the cost of the venture will be significant.
Barnsley Youth Choir has always strived to deliver the highest possible choral education to young people, whilst maintaining its philosophy of being accessible and inclusive to all. This means that the members selected to perform at the festival will only be expected to contribute 50% of the actual cost, leaving the choir to fund the remaining 50%. This means that the choir is once again embarking on a significant period of fundraising to ensure that this amazing opportunity can be delivered.
In the coming weeks we will be updating this page with further information about how to support our fundraising, so please do follow our social media updates and check this page.
With over 3,000 shows visiting from across the world, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which runs from 3 to 27 August 201, attracts the very best performers in the world. Despite the vast number of shows on offer, Barnsley Youth Choir is confident that its shows will stand out following their meteoric rise to success over the past few years.
